Meet Leanne
Leanne Pittard's journey from a military wife to the owner of Miele Apothecary in Tehachapi, California, is a fascinating story of passion and creativity. Married to Roger since 1995, her background as a military wife allowed her to experience various cultures and witness the art of handmade crafts, which she carried with her into her entrepreneurial venture.
Starting with creating soaps, candles, and boutique-style items for her seven children, Leanne's love for handmade crafts grew. Upon her husband Rogers retiring from the Marine Corps in 2010 and settling in Santa Clarita, she had the chance to delve deeper into her creative pursuits. In 2017, the family returned to Bear Valley Springs, providing Leanne with the perfect opportunity to expand her craft.
Wanting to offer more than just soaps, Leanne dedicated three years to studying and researching the art of creating various handmade products. In 2020, she officially opened Miele Apothecary, a haven for a wide range of handcrafted items. The product line includes lotions, face products, custom colognes, body sprays, sugar scrubs, salt scrubs, specialty massage oils, bath bombs, bath bomb cupcakes, all natural deodorants, and her renowned candles.
As the business flourished, Miele Apothecary relocated to 121 East F Street in downtown Tehachapi, outgrowing the original shop. Leanne's commitment to showcasing local artisans is evident in her store, featuring handmade spices, teas, incense, handbags, jewelry, and flowers by Blooms. These items, some available seasonally, contribute to the uniqueness of the store.
Miele Apothecary goes beyond being a retail space; it specializes in custom orders and gift baskets, adding a personal touch to its offerings. Leanne's dedication to preserving the art of handmade crafts and supporting local artisans is a testament to her love for creativity and community. Customers visiting Miele Apothecary not only experience a wide array of beautifully crafted products but also get a glimpse into Leanne's journey and the diverse cultures that have influenced her creations.
The store is not just a place to shop; it's a celebration of craftsmanship and a reflection of Leanne's passion for bringing the world of handmade goods to her local community in Tehachapi.
